GLS Spain has announced that it delivered 20 million parcels to its out-of-home (OOH) network in 2024, representing a 40% increase on the previous year and 17% of the company’s total parcel volume.
According to the company, these figures reflect a growing trend toward OOH deliveries, which have tripled, reaching 1.5 million deliveries to convenience points in certain months of the fiscal year.
Currently, GLS Spain has over 7,700 pickup points within its OOH network, including official GLS Spain agencies, parcel shops and parcel lockers. The company is growing this network through partnerships with retail, food and fashion companies to provide convenient collection points at high-traffic, easily accessible locations.
“Consumers are increasingly demanding flexibility and a variety of delivery options,” explained Juan Sandes, chief strategy officer at GLS Spain. “This trend is especially relevant among shoppers who look for alternatives that match their schedules and lifestyles, without ignoring the environmental footprint; hence the development of the out-of-home model with convenience points and lockers.”
