Dutch supermarket chain Hoogvliet has installed 70 PostNL parcel machines at its stores across the Netherlands, enabling customers to conveniently pick up and return parcels.
The parcel machines replace the PostNL service points at some stores and are also brand new at other locations where no PostNL point was previously available. The parcel machines are being installed both inside and outside stores depending on demand and are accessible 24/7.
“This expansion is a good example of how we respond together to social developments and customer needs,” said Jeffrey Jansen, commercial director at Hoogvliet. “With our supermarket, we fulfill an important social role and we strengthen that even more by offering this service in the neighborhood, where convenience and accessibility are paramount.”
Harm Schokker, deputy director of retail at PostNL added, “PostNL has the ambition to grow to more than 1,600 parcel machines this year. This collaboration is therefore a valuable addition to our national network that we are currently expanding rapidly.
“The use of parcel lockers is steadily increasing, and by placing them in accessible locations, such as near Hoogvliet stores, we’re providing online shoppers with even greater convenience.”
