South Pacific posts attend future-focused forum in Tonga

Postal companies from six Pacific nations attended the first South Pacific Postal Business forum entitled “Addressing the Future”, which was held in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, on January 24-26, 2017.

The topics of discussion included the strategic opportunities of using What3Words addressing; how to further develop e-commerce across the region; and how to make more use of their membership of PRIME, an initiative to create value-added letter services by the International Post Corporation (IPC).

In addition, participants were able to benefit from training on leadership, strategic thinking, change management, fostering innovation, and developing and engaging staff. The joint initiatives arising from the forum will be progressed by the Pacific Postal Group.

The South Pacific Postal Business forum was hosted by Tonga Post and attended by the Cook Islands, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. The event was also sponsored by What3Words, PRIME, New Zealand Post, and Australian Post, and coordinated by Derek Osborn of Whatnext4u.
