Australia Post is expanding its Community Postal Agent (CPA) network, adding eight new locations across New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
CPAs provide services including stamp sales, prepaid satchels (mailing bags) and packaging, as well as sending and receiving mail and parcels. The company said the expansion is intended to improve local access to postal services, particularly in regional and high-growth areas where demand has increased.
New CPAs have opened in Tully Heads and Mulgildie in Queensland. Additional locations are set to open in Greta, New South Wales; Torquay North, Victoria; Geographe, Wandina and Waterloo in Western Australia; and Cooee, Tasmania.
Josh Bannister, executive general manager retail, brand and marketing at Australia Post, said the expansion reflects ongoing investment in local communities.
“We’re focused on making it easier for locals to access the services they need – when and how it suits them. These new CPAs will help us deliver more efficiently, and ensure parcels get to customers as fast as possible,” Bannister said.
Australia Post said there are more than 700 CPAs nationwide, with approximately 90% operating within another local business. The model is designed to maintain access to everyday postal services while supporting community-based retail operations.
The company said the additional locations will help reduce travel times for customers in regional and rural areas, and strengthen service coverage across its national network.
