Swiss Post unveils environmentally friendly headquarters

Swiss Post has officially opened its new environmentally friendly headquarters in the Wankdorf City district of Berne, Switzerland. The building has been constructed to both Minergie and international DGNB Gold standards – a first for an office building in the country.

The new headquarters has brought together six separate locations under one roof and is capable of housing approximately 2,000 employees. The building will also operate a desk sharing policy where staff can work from anywhere in the building using their laptop, allowing them to choose the best possible workspace for a specific task and thereby improving cost-efficiency.

To further enhance the environmental credentials of the new building, Swiss Post will also provide staff with 10 electric and hybrid vehicles to use for business trips, as well as e-bikes and bicycles for closer destinations.
