The 2016 European Business Awards (EBA) has selected Omniva, a postal delivery and logistics firm operating in the Baltics, as National Champion for Estonia. The post was recognized for its e-receipt project, which has been submitted to compete in the EBA’s innovation category early next year.

The awards, Europe’s largest business competition, are supported by business leaders, academics and political representatives from across Europe, and this year engaged with over 33,000 businesses from 34 countries.

Sander Aasna, head of Omniva’s information business division, said, “Although e-receipt has yet to grow to its full potential, we are proud that the project is already recognized at this level. The European Business Awards is widely known as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies.”

The e-receipt portal is a system that enables end users to manage their receipts, as well as documents such as letters of guarantee and product manuals, in a single convenient web environment. Traders are able to eliminate problems and costs associated with paper receipts, thereby increasing the quality of customer service.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards, said, “Congratulations to Omniva, who have been selected to represent their country as National Champions. They are central to the success of Europe’s strong business community, and have shown the core principles we look for, of innovation, ethics and success.”
