UPS Healthcare is expanding its healthcare logistics services in Asia-Pacific with the opening of a state-of-the-art 11,500m2 facility in Tuas, Singapore, doubling its regional footprint.
The new facility includes advanced automation and cold chain capabilities; a built-in conveyor system, dry ice dispenser and vertical lean lift module for improved efficiency and precision; and temperature-controlled storage, including coolers and a -20°C walk-in freezer, designed to handle sensitive healthcare products with care and reliability.
The facility is built to meet Good Distribution Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice standards and offers specialized services, such as cold-chain packaging, labeling and regulatory compliance support.
Corey Cheung, vice president of business development for Asia-Pacific at UPS Healthcare, said, “The opening of this facility underscores UPS Healthcare’s commitment to providing reliable, innovative solutions tailored to the needs of healthcare providers and patients.”
In related news, UPS announced in April that it would acquire Andlauer Healthcare Group Inc (AHG), a leading provider of logistics and specialized cold chain transportation solutions for the healthcare sector headquartered in Canada, for approximately C$2.2bn (US$1.6bn).
