Keba parcel lockers to be deployed in Bucharest

Romanian express delivery firm FAN Courier has partnered with Austrian parcel locker developer Keba to deploy 10 self-service terminals at various locations throughout the city of Bucharest in Romania.

E-commerce in Romania grew from €1.1bn (US$1.2bn) in 2014 to an estimated €1.4bn (US$1.6bn) in 2015. Approximately 6.7 million Romanians have shopped online at some point in time, while 1.4 million inhabitants used a mobile device to make online purchases. Black Friday is the biggest retailing event in Romania and accounts for more than €100m (US$113m) in online shopping.

The new automated Keba lockers will complement FAN’s existing ‘Collect Point’ services and will be used exclusively for e-commerce. This will be crucial during Black Friday due to the high demand of last-minute deliveries.
