International Distribution Services (IDS), parent company of Royal Mail, has announced an agreement to acquire Quadient’s UK locker network. The network of around 3,000 lockers will become part of Royal Mail’s out-of-home network, with the transaction expected to close by the end of the 2026.
The deal will give IDS direct access to Quadient’s high-footfall sites, carrier partnerships, staff and pipeline of future locations. Combined with Royal Mail’s existing lockers, parcel shops and parcel postboxes, the acquisition will expand the company’s nationwide out-of-home network to more than 30,000 parcel points.
