Bloq.it returned to Parcel+Post Expo this year with an expanded version of its virtual reality experience, giving visitors an interactive look inside its production process and latest smart locker innovations.
Using a VR headset, attendees could explore Bloq.it’s factory environment and design their own lockers in real time – an activation that, according to Bloq.it’s head of marketing, Bruno Luís, continues to prove a powerful way to engage with the brand.
“It’s good for us in marketing because it brings people to the stand,” Luís said. “But for me, it’s more about the experience people have with the technology. The magic of the device is that it’s so intuitive – it creates an emotional connection you don’t get anywhere else.”
Luís explained that the experience reflects Bloq.it’s broader philosophy of openness and innovation: “We have a show and tell philosophy with the market. We’ve been pioneers in showing our factories and our building process. Competitors take inspiration from our designs, but we don’t mind because that’s how leaders behave. When they are copying us, we are already on the next version of our lockers.”
The company also showcased its new Drop unit, designed to streamline first-mile and returns operations.
“The Drop is a smaller unit, optimized for returns and operations but also for consumers,” Luís said. “You can scan a code on your phone, print the label directly from the machine, attach it and drop the parcel. It’s fast, convenient and fits in a 1m2 space – ideal for neighbourhood locations.”
Luís added that the Drop’s consistent user interface mirrors that of Bloq.it’s larger lockers, ensuring a seamless experience across the network: “We’re creating hybrid networks with lockers, Drops and partner points – that’s the future for Europe. We’re always aiming higher, never settling, and always pushing the boundaries.”
