E-commerce logistics provider Cainiao has continued its expansions into the Americas market with the rollout of a new service aimed at improving cross-border services between the USA and Mexico.
The new Americas G2G (global-to-global) cross-border logistics service is designed to enable parcel flows between countries across the region. The first lane (USA to Mexico) covers the most active e-commerce markets in the west of the USA and reaches 99% of Mexico, targeting one of the region’s highest-demand cross-border corridors.
According to Cainiao, the service is priced at around 60% of the market average and aims to reduce the long-standing cost barrier for USA–Mexico parcel delivery for platforms and sellers. With this launch, Cainiao is among the first China-based global logistics companies to provide G2G services across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
The service is powered by Cainiao’s self-operated local networks in both the USA and Mexico, giving the company control over key nodes including sorting, line-haul transfer and last-mile delivery.
Investment in Asia
Cainiao also is accelerating investment and commercial expansion in logistics technology in Japan and South Korea. The company has established a dedicated logistics technology office in Japan and is building local delivery and after-sales capabilities to support deployments and ongoing operations.
Bi Jianghua, vice president of Cainiao and general manager of Cainiao Logistics Technology, said, “Japan’s FMCG retail sector is entering a peak cycle of logistics equipment upgrades. While automation in Japan is already mature, Cainiao’s strengths in AI-driven innovation and scenario-based operations expertise position us to compete effectively.”
Bi added, “We expect 2026 to be a breakout year for logistics technology. As we continue to deepen our business in China, we will also scale in both emerging markets and key mature markets – including Japan, South Korea, the US and Europe – supported by an expanding global delivery and after-sales service network.”
