DHL Supply Chain has announced a major expansion of its data center logistics infrastructure across Asia-Pacific, adding more than 160,000m2 of dedicated warehousing capacity to meet growing regional demand driven by AI investment and digital infrastructure growth.
The expansion includes more than 30,000m2of dedicated warehouse capacity already in operation across the region, with a further 130,000m2 of committed expansion. Built-to-suit developments in Malaysia and Thailand are scheduled to go live over the next two years.
The move follows a commitment made in March 2026 to add 10 dedicated warehouses in North America, as DHL ramps up data center logistics capabilities globally. The data center logistics market is projected to grow from US$23bn in 2025 to approximately US$35bn by 2030.
Javier Bilbao, CEO for Asia-Pacific at DHL Supply Chain, said, “Market projections show Asia-Pacific as the world’s next data center hub, with approximately US$800bn in data center investment expected across the region by 2030. As the region enters this sustained phase of large-scale data center execution, customers need more than capacity; they need execution certainty.”
A central element of the expansion is investment in workforce upskilling, specifically in advanced white glove handling and specialized technical services. This enables teams to move critical preparation and integration work out of live construction zones and into controlled logistics environments.
White glove handling covers the full delivery process, from site survey reporting and route assessments to on-site preparation including floor protection, cage management and part number verification. Specialized technical services include server rack frame assembly, component mounting, intra-rack cabling, functional testing and secure packaging. By completing these activities in purpose-built logistics hubs, DHL says customers can reduce on-site congestion, lower installation risk and maintain build schedules as infrastructure density increases.
Amanda Rasmussen, chief commercial officer, DHL Global Forwarding and head of the Data Center Logistics Taskforce at DHL Group, said, “Building on recent investments in North America and now expanding further in Asia-Pacific, we are mobilizing capabilities across the group to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions for every stage of the data center lifecycle.”
Asia-Pacific is expected to attract approximately US$800bn in data center investment by 2030, positioning the region as a major global hub. DHL says its expanded infrastructure is designed to support hyperscalers and data center operators managing tighter timelines, complex cross-border supply chains and the movement of high-value equipment into active construction environments.
