France-headquartered FM Logistic’s urban logistics arm, Citylogin, has opened a second distribution center near Madrid, Spain, to handle last-mile deliveries of big and bulky products to consumers for a leading retail customer.

Located in San Fernando de Henares, the 7,500m site employs close to 30 people in addition to 40 drivers. From there, Citylogin says it will provide home delivery and assembly of furniture items and white goods in Madrid and its surroundings.

The company provides urban logistics solutions that combine proximity distribution centers and low-emission vehicles running on electricity or natural gas. Its service is available in 10 cities (with an 11th coming soon) in Spain: Madrid, Barcelona, Saragossa, Bilbao, Coruña, Ourense, Valladolid, Granada, Córdoba and Cadiz. It uses a dedicated fleet of about 300 vehicles in the country.
