Poczta Polska handled almost 9% more courier, express and parcel (CEP) shipments in the first five months of 2026 than in the same period last year, an increase of approximately two and a half million shipments, according to the company.
The Polish postal operator has also reported growth in its business logistics services segment, with pallet shipments up by almost 30% year-on-year in May. January saw a 13% increase in pallets shipped compared with the previous year, while April recorded an almost 19% rise. Poczta Polska said the volume of CEP shipments it handled has grown at a compound annual growth rate of 14% over the past 12 months.
The business logistics segment also recorded growth in customer numbers, with Poczta Polska seeing a more than 26% increase in customer numbers in January than the previous year. February saw a customer increase of almost 29%, while April recorded a rise of almost 19% year-on-year.
“The observed increases are the result of Poczta Polska’s consistently implemented transformation,” said Grzegorz Jaworek, sales director at Poczta Polska. “Over the past dozen or so months, we have focused on rebuilding our market reach model, implementing a new sales strategy and raising the standards of execution of commercial activities. We are particularly pleased with the dynamic growth in the number of customers from the small and medium-size enterprise sector in recent months.”
The figures align with the Office of Electronic Communications‘ (UKE) latest report on the Polish postal market for 2025, which valued the sector at more than zł20bn (US$5.5bn), with the courier segment identified as the main growth driver. The number of courier parcels delivered in Poland rose to nearly 1.4 billion in 2025, an increase of more than 14% compared with 2024.
“We are simultaneously developing our logistics and digital competencies,” Jaworek added. “We have provided our customers with a set of plug-ins for integrating the most popular e-commerce platforms with Poczta Polska services, making the process of sending, managing parcels and handling returns simpler and more efficient. Our ambition in the next steps is to create one of the easiest-to-implement logistics ecosystems on the market for business customers.”
UKE forecasts continued growth in courier parcel volumes, projecting more than 1.5 billion parcels in 2026 and approximately 1.7 billion in 2027. Courier shipments overtook letter shipments in postal market share in 2022, when letters accounted for 45.6% and courier shipments for 45.9%. By 2025, courier shipments represented almost 62% of all postal services.
