Zebra Technologies has unveiled its new EM45 rugged enterprise mobile computer, designed to improve productivity for frontline managers and workers across the retail, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing and warehouse industries.
According to Zebra’s latest research, most warehouse associates emphasize the importance of using ergonomic mobile devices (88%), communication apps (87%) and task management tools (91%) to address workplace challenges.
The EM45 offers dual personal and work profile capabilities, which means users only need to carry one device. Powered by an AI-capable Qualcomm processor, the device features one-touch, push-to-talk collaboration and three custom action buttons to enable barcode scanning and distress call alerts.
With Zebra’s Workstation Connect, the EM45 transforms into a full desktop experience with a powerful battery that provides up to 25 hours of uptime. And the Zebra DNA software suite simplifies its setup, deployment and device management, according to the company.
“This new class of sleek enterprise mobile computers can be carried in your pocket as a company-owned, personally enabled device,” said James Poulton, senior vice president, enterprise mobile computing, Zebra Technologies. “The EM45 enables better real-time decision-making along with improved collaboration, orchestration and intelligence for frontline workers across multiple industries.”
For postal, transportation and logistics providers, the EM45 enhances route management and provides proof of delivery with its high-performance 50MP rear camera, optimized for detailed photos, videos and fast barcode reading.
The new EM45 is part of the recently launched EM45 series, which also includes the EM45 RFID model that offers a built-in short-range RFID reader for precise inventory counts and task completion without the need to juggle multiple devices.
