Belgian postal operator Bpost has reached an agreement with BD myShopi for the acquisition of sustainable urban logistics business CityDepot.

Effective January 1, 2020, BD myShopi – an omnichannel activation platform in Belgium – will own CityDepot, which combines deliveries to businesses and traders on behalf of haulers and logistics companies.

CityDepot has been a Bpost business since 2015 and over the years has grown into a leading brand in combined logistics deliveries to commercial centers. Bpost decided to sell the subsidiary as part its future plans to focus on the sustainable delivery of parcels to consumers.

Kathleen Van Beveren, CEO of parcels and logistics, Europe and Asia for Bpost said, “Thanks to CityDepot we have gained a great deal of experience of sustainable city deliveries in recent years, which we will build upon to pursue our growth as a major partner for sustainable B2C e-commerce logistics.

“By putting a strong focus on our current and future B2C activities, we can continue to fulfill customer expectations and provide a high-quality sustainable service. I would like to thank the management and staff of CityDepot for their efforts over the past few years and wish them every success as part of BD myShopi.”
