UK-based parcel delivery firm Yodel has appointed Mike Cooper (left) as its new CEO.

Prior to joining Yodel, Cooper spent nine years at passenger transport provider Arriva where he was deputy CEO and managing director, five years as chief commercial officer at airline operator EasyJet, and four years as the managing director at travel operator Thomson Holidays.

The announcement follows a successful Christmas peak for Yodel, which saw the carrier handle 22 million parcels between November 22 and December 24, 2015. Cooper will officially take up the position of CEO from February 1, 2016.

Dick Stead, executive chairman of Yodel, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Mike to the team. He has an impressive track record of galvanizing people to deliver exceptional results and using consumer insight to drive a great customer experience. Mike will focus us still further on our ever improving service levels and provide impetus to Yodel’s growth ambitions.”
