Swiss Post separates sales and advisory services at the post office

LinkedIn +

Swiss Post is looking to streamline its post office operations by testing the separation of its sales transactions and advisory services at the counter. The initial trial will run in around 70 post offices across Switzerland with initial results expected towards the end of 2015.

The post believes that nine out of 10 customers simply want to make a quick payment, or drop off a parcel or a registered letter. The new structure will aim to serve these customers more efficiently than before by creating a separate area for customers looking for more time-intensive services, such as opening a PostFinance account or concluding a new mobile phone subscription.

To ensure the realignment is communicated properly, Swiss Post will be redesigning the customer areas in the pilot post offices. Visual measures and modified ticketing systems will promote the new way of operating.
