DHL Express has secured Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) Facility Security Requirements (FSR) certification for its service center in Treviso, Italy, strengthening its global secure logistics network.
The certification adds to DHL Express’s portfolio of more than 500 TAPA-certified facilities worldwide, and is part of a broader €250m (US$295m) global investment by DHL Express in security infrastructure, technologies and processes.
TAPA FSR certification is awarded following independent audits against internationally recognized standards for the protection of high-value goods throughout the supply chain. The standards are widely used across the supply chain industry as benchmarks for security, resilience and risk mitigation.
Adrian Whelan, senior vice president of global security at DHL Express, said, “Our certification in Treviso is another important step in fortifying the global security landscape of DHL Express, now that we have achieved the 500th TAPA certification worldwide.
“TAPA FSR is one of the most respected standards in our industry, and achieving this level reflects the dedication of our teams and our commitment to providing customers with the most secure and resilient supply chain services worldwide.”
Nazzarena Franco, the CEO of DHL Express Italy, said the certification supports customers in high-value and export-driven sectors. “Strengthening security standards in strategic service centers such as Treviso is essential not only to ensure the highest level of protection for our customers’ shipments, but also because security is a core asset of the business-enabling role we play for all our customers,” she stated.
Franco added that certified security processes are particularly important for industries such as fashion, pharmaceuticals, luxury goods and high-tech manufacturing.
Thorsten Neumann, the CEO of TAPA EMEA, congratulated DHL Express on the certification, describing it as “the best example of what DHL stands for in terms of security, resilience and delivering as promised for your customers.”
The Treviso Service Center is one of DHL Express Italy’s key logistics facilities, supporting export flows from the country’s northeast. The 30,000m² site is directly connected to the Venice Gateway and global hubs in Leipzig and Milan Malpensa, providing access to more than 220 international destinations. The facility employs more than 500 staff and includes a high-capacity sorting system, as well as sustainability features such as on-site solar generation and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
