Poșta Panduri creates multipurpose parcel locker for rural areas

LinkedIn +

Romanian technology developer Poșta Panduri has launched its holistic smart locker concept, the Smart City Pachetomat, to respond to the last-mile delivery challenge in less densely populated areas, such as small villages and towns.

The Smart City Pachetomat is designed to replace rural public transport stations as it leverages a modular mobile container with a solar panel roof, and a closed enclosure for the delivery and collection of packages at one end, and an open enclosure for those waiting for public transport at the other. The closed enclosure has a controlled atmosphere suitable for the delivery of heat-sensitive products. It also includes a Poșta Panduri Pachetomat parcel locker for picking up online orders, as well as an ATM and a vending machine.

Poșta Pandrui plans for this multipurpose parcel locker concept to bring the speed, efficiency, low cost and automation of parcel lockers to customers outside cities.
