Belgian postal operator bpost has installed its 1,500th parcel locker and is expanding its network at a rate of six new lockers per day. The company aims to reach 2,500 lockers by the end of 2025.
According to bpost, the rapid expansion is in response to growing consumer demand, with the number of parcel deliveries to lockers rising by 44% last year. bpost statistics show that of all the company’s pickup options, parcel lockers receive the highest customer satisfaction score (NPS).
The 1,500th parcel locker was installed in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek and offers 120 parcel compartments.
Thanks to larger locker sizes, the postal operator anticipates tripling the total capacity of its lockers from 50,000 to 150,000 parcels once all 2,500 have been installed.
The parcel lockers are being provided by Keba. Read more on the partnership here.
