AXIT launches app for AX4 logistics platform

German-based IT developer AXIT has launched its new AX4 mobile app to accompany its AX4 logistics platform.

AX4 enables logistics service providers to manage their supply chains with the push of a button, by performing pre-determined tasks such as informing the manager of a shipping department about additional costs for special deliveries. These costs can then be accepted or rejected via the manager’s mobile device.

“Each customer can determine what functions or processes they want mobile access to,” said Uwe Schumacher, head of product line management at AXIT. “Used for managing supply chains the app, available on smartphones and tablets, reaches into the execution of operation-level logistics.”

One of the key advantages of the app is that decision makers can be reached at all times and new participants can be added to the supply chain management process by simply scanning a QR code. AX4 currently has more than 200,000 users worldwide.
