Same-day and next-day delivery specialist Trunkrs has announced its integration with e-commerce delivery platform Metapack.

The partnership empowers retailers in the Netherlands and Belgium to leverage Trunkrs’ services for more sustainable deliveries.

Recent research from Metapack showed that 32% of consumers value sustainability delivery more than factors such as cost and speed. Having already provided emission-free deliveries across Amsterdam and The Hague, Trunkrs is now looking to expand its network across the whole of the Netherlands over the next 24 months.

Renowned for its delivery promise, Trunkrs delivers 99% of its packages on time, which is the highest rate in the Netherlands.

David Randall, director of sustainability at Metapack, said, “Retail has dramatically changed over the past 18 month, our research shows that 79% of people in the Netherlands have shopped online more during the pandemic and will continue to do so in the future. E-commerce has become the channel of choice for consumers, who now expect fast, convenient and sustainable delivery options. Working together with Trunkrs we’re able to help our retailers better manage changing consumer expectations and not only provide greater delivery experiences, but more sustainable experiences.”

Marc Kooiman, CCO at Trunkrs, said, “Empowering retailers to deliver in a more sustainable way is at the forefront of everything that we do. Our same-day and next-day deliveries services enable retailers to satisfy consumer desire for fast and convenient delivery options, in a more environmentally friendly way. Our ambition is to be completely emission free in the next two years and we’re well on our way to achieving this goal. Our new partnership with Metapack, will allow us to help even more retailers provide high quality and more sustainable delivery services to consumers across the Netherlands and Belgium.”
