A new report from Last Mile Experts has documented the size, scope and dynamics of the European out-of-home delivery market.
The Out-of-home Delivery in Europe 2026 report, produced with support from content partner InPost, provides data on the number of parcel machines (APMs) and pickup-drop-off points (PUDOs) in 31 European countries. It is the sixth edition of the report and covers more than 400 different parcel delivery operators.
Marek Różycki, managing partner at Last Mile Experts, said, “The data in Last Mile Expert’s Out-of-Home Delivery in Europe 2026 report continues to support a clear recommendation: expanding OOH networks, strengthening collaboration and investing in flexible technology and consumer engagement are now must-haves rather than merely being an option. The most successful operators in the next phase will be those who scale smartly, share infrastructure and deliver both economic and environmental returns.”
Key findings from the database show that at the end of 2025, the country with the largest number of shared OOH points ((PUDOs and APMs) was Poland, followed by the UK, Spain, Italy and Germany.
DPD had the largest number of PUDO and APM points across Europe with over 153,000. InPost remains the leader in the pace of expansion of its APM network with over 61,000 lockers.
New for this year, the report calculated the density of each country’s cumulative out-of-home delivery network, thereby providing an indication on the development of each nation’s OOH infrastructure. Czech Republic took the leading position, with 30.8 locations per 10,000 inhabitants, ahead of Poland with 27.3 OOH locations per 10,000 inhabitants. Slovakia, Hungary and Spain placed next.
Almost half of the countries covered by the report (15) have a unique OOH location density of over 10 points per 10,000 inhabitants, which is seen as a key threshold for achieving optimal density in each market. However, some major markets, including Italy and Germany, have still not surpassed this level.
Alongside this data, the report contains insights from industry experts covering key trends from AI to the rise of C2C delivery and the growing importance of OOH delivery.
