PostNL has announced opened new fulfillment center in the Manheim Economic Area, in Schiefferstadt, Germany. The expansion is part of the post’s strategy to expand its European logistics network, support online Dutch retailers and broaden its local fulfillment offering.
The new site joins its existing network of fulfillment centers in other major European economic areas, including Cologne, Milan, Wroclaw and Utrecht.
It will offer various logistics solutions to help customers grow their cross-border business, such as inventory management and order picking, packaging, shipping and returns. Spring Global Delivery Solutions, an international PostNL subsidiary, will be responsible for the execution and distribution.
The location has 10,000m2 of operational space with a ceiling height of 12m and a maximum capacity of four million parcels per year.
“Our new fulfillment center in Mannheim strengthens our cross-border e-commerce capabilities,” said Tijs Reumerman, director of cross-border solutions at PostNL. “The location, design and capacity of this facility ensure we can help our customers grow abroad with faster, and more efficient delivery options.”
PostNL says it plans to further expand its international fulfillment network in the future.
