The colleagues at delivery company Yodel’s Shaw parcel sortation and transport center in the UK have raised over £3,000 (US$3,900) in cash to donate to their local Maggie’s cancer center.

Maggie’s is a charity providing free cancer support and information in centers across the UK and online. To raise the funds, Yodel colleagues held raffles with prizes such as bottles of champagne, chocolates, an iPad, shopping vouchers and hampers.

Laura Tomlinson, center fundraising manager at Maggie’s, said, “We can’t thank the Yodel colleagues enough for what they’ve done for us. We are so grateful to the team for finding a way to support us over the past few years. Thanks to them, we can continue to be here for people with cancer at a time when they need us most.”

Val Kilburn, operations manager at Yodel, commented, “We were invited by Maggie’s to visit the center in Oldham so we could see first-hand the great work they do to support people who are facing difficult times. We rallied the whole office together in Oldham to support such an important cause and we hope our efforts will make a difference. We look forward to working with Laura and the team in the near future.”
