HayPost, the national postal operator of Armenia, has begun conducting regular mail and cargo transportations to and from Europe.

The new service is intended to expand the connectivity of Armenia, by means of weekly mail and cargo transportations from the capital city of Yerevan to the company’s hub in Frankfurt, Germany, and vice versa. The new service will also help to further promote e-commerce in the country, enabling online Armenian businesses to grow.

In order to provide the new service, HayPost introduced two new Mercedes-Benz Actros 2530 GigaSpace trucks, with the capacity to carry 27 tons of cargo, and travel 4,500km (2,796 miles) without refueling thanks to their extra fuel tanks.

The flexible configuration of the refrigerated cargo hold also enables the transportation of both perishable and of general cargo.

Alongside the trucks, HayPost has also added 12 new Renault Dokker vans, which run on compressed natural gas (CNG), minimizing the level of CO? emissions. Approximately US$1m has been invested in the 14 new vehicles.
