Swiss Post announced that it will offer school leavers 830 apprenticeship positions in logistics, retail, maintenance and commercial areas of the business in 2016.

More than 2,000 of Swiss Post’s 63,000 employees are apprentices, covering over 15 different occupations. Four out of five apprentices go on to start their first job in the company in the same field that they did their apprenticeship. This summer, more than 700 apprentices completed their training with Swiss Post. The application process for 2016 apprenticeships is currently underway.

The company has also opened its new ICT campus in Berne to strengthen its IT training capabilities. In future, IT apprentices will spend their first year of basic training at the facility. Swiss Post is planning to increase the number of apprenticeship places in ICT occupations from 100 to around 160 due to the steadily rising demand for ICT professionals.
