DHL Group has appointed Joe Joseph as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective June 1, 2027. He will replace Melanie Kreis, who will fulfill but not extend her contract, which runs until May 31, 2027.
Joseph currently serves as CFO of DHL Express and has been with the company for more than 28 years, holding several finance leadership roles in the Middle East, Asia and Europe before assuming his current position in 2014.
Commenting on the appointment of Joseph, Dr Katrin Suder, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post, said, “His tenure as CFO of DHL Express gives us confidence in his ability to ensure continuity and drive our disciplined financial strategy forward.”
Current CFO Kreis commented, “It is never easy to find the right moment for a transition like this, but all of us involved are convinced this is the right time to ensure the succession in the best possible way for our company.
“After more than two decades with DHL Group and 12 years on the board of management, I feel deep gratitude for what we have achieved together and great confidence in the company’s strong position going forward.
“I am particularly pleased that Joe, an experienced and trusted successor, is ready to take on the role. Having worked closely with him for many years, I am certain that the group’s finance function will be in very good hands.”
Suder added, “Over two decades, Melanie Kreis has made an outstanding contribution to DHL Group’s development. Her strategic foresight, financial expertise and disciplined focus on value creation have been instrumental in building the company’s strong position, and we are deeply grateful for her achievements.”
