Automation specialist Beumer Group has completed the installation of new sortation systems for Chinese parcel delivery and logistics provider SF Express in its Wuxi and Shenzen sorting hubs.

The new systems, based on Beumer’s LS-4000CB sorter, are capable of processing flyers and parcels of all shapes and sizes and will boost the overall sorting capacity of both centers.

Located in China’s first express industrial park, the Wuxi center’s new sortation system integrates a 176-meter (577ft) LS-4000CB cross-belt sorter for flyer sortation, with 12 induction units and two conveyor lines. The Shenzhen center, which is close to SF Express’ headquarters in Shenzhen, uses a total of four LS-4000CB cross-belt sorters.

In both centers, the sortation systems’ highly configurable layouts optimize the use of space to achieve increased capacity within a compact system footprint. The new installations also enable SF Express to reduce power consumption at the two facilities.

The systems installed in the SF Express centers in Wuxi and Shenzhen are the latest in a number of solutions that the Beumer Group has designed and installed for SF Express. The carrier is renowned for providing next day delivery services for more than 300 cities in Mainland China.
