Australia Post has opened a new parcel-focused post office in Yarrabilba, Queensland, as part of efforts to expand and modernize its network in high-growth areas.
The facility is the fourth next-generation post office introduced by Australia Post in the state and is designed to provide faster and more flexible parcel services for local customers.
The Yarrabilba parcels site is dedicated to sending, collecting and returning parcels. The format combines staffed services with self-service options, including 24/7 access to parcel lockers and vending machines offering packaging and mailing supplies.
Sarah Coe, general manager of retail operations north at Australia Post, said the new site reflects changing customer behavior. “The number one reason customers visit a post office is to collect a parcel, so we’re making it quicker and easier to collect and send parcels at a time that suits them,” she said.
She added that the investment responds to population growth in the area. “Yarrabilba is a rapidly growing suburb and as the local community continues to expand – we’re committed to upgrading our services to better support residents.”
The new outlet replaces parcel collection services previously available at the Yarrabilba community postal agency, with customers now able to collect and return online purchases around the clock.
Australia Post said the next-generation format is designed to be flexible and scalable, with some locations featuring a smaller front-of-house footprint supported by more efficient back-end operations to handle higher parcel volumes.
