Australia Post has opened its first next-generation post offices in Queensland today, designed to make sending, collecting and returning parcels faster and more convenient for locals.
The post offices, which have opened in time for the busy Christmas season, are located in Brisbane, Broadbeach and Bundall (Gold Coast) and are dedicated to parcel services. They offer a more streamlined experience to customers as well as 24/7 self-serve options and parcel lockers.
Australia Post’s executive general manager for retail, brand and marketing, Josh Bannister, said the next-generation post office has been designed with flexibility and convenience at its core, ensuring Australia Post continues to service customers where and when they need it most.
“The number one reason a customer visits the post office is to collect a parcel, so we’re making that process faster and easier, at a time that suits them. We’ve officially entered the busiest shopping season of the year, and this new format helps customers send and collect parcels more efficiently than ever before,” said Bannister.
Australia Post says that more than 80% of Brisbane and Gold Coast households shopped online in the last year, making the new format more convenient for locals.
The next-generation format has been designed to be flexible and scalable, with some featuring a smaller physical footprint but a more efficient back-of-house setup to manage increased parcel volume.
