Asia Pacific Post launches ePacket solution for e-commerce deliveries

Asia Pacific Post (APP), a cooperative of 27 posts in the Asia-Pacific region and an affiliate of the Asia Pacific Postal Union (APPU), has launched its new ePacket solution to provide e-tailers and corporate customers with an economical shipping option for sending items up to 4.4 lb (2kg).

The APP ePacket solution incorporates key features such as track-and-trace, reliability (service monitoring) and affordability, but does not require a signature on delivery. The signing ceremony for the launch of the ePacket solution took place at the 2015 Asia Pacific Post CEO Forum, in Seoul, South Korea, on September 14-15, 2015.

Kim Kee-deok, president of Korea Post, said, “The launch of [the]APP ePacket service will lay the foundation for the future growth of the e-commerce market in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Bui Bang Tam, head of business development and the APP office, said, “Our target is to assist members to acquire customers and new traffic.”

The APP ePacket initiative has been agreed by Australia Post, Bhutan Post, Cambodia Post, China Post, India Post, Indonesia Post, Japan Post, Korea Post, Lao Post, Malaysia Post, Maldives Post, Philippines Post, Singapore Post, Sri Lanka Post, Thailand Post, Vietnam Post and Hong Kong Post.
