FedEx has announced it will open two new state-of-the-art logistics hubs close to its existing Kingsbury/Atherstone and Marston Gate sites in the UK, consolidating its existing road hub infrastructure and incorporating advanced technologies to support future growth.
The hubs will be operational by 2029 and will each be able to sort 32,000 items per hour. They will process different types of deliveries for customers, including international freight and e-commerce shipments, unlocking growth for UK businesses across many sectors, according to FedEx.
“We are excited about plans to renew our hub infrastructure in the UK and commit in the creation of two new delivery hubs,” said Rob Peto, vice president of operations, FedEx.
“This is a substantial commitment into the UK and will mean we’re well positioned for future growth with a dynamic, flexible and efficient end-to-end network. It will also present exciting opportunities for our team members over the long term and further enhance the service we deliver to our customers.’’
