Delivery provider Evri, formerly Hermes UK, is set to open a new depot in Plymouth, creating more than 50 new jobs in the area. The new site will open in July 2022.

The 60,000ft2  depot is located on the Parkway Industrial Estate and is almost double the size of the existing depot at Bell Close which has been managed by a third-party contractor. Evri’s decision to invest more than £1m (US$1.2m) in the new site and to bring operations in-house will increase capacity fivefold and provide increased control over service levels. All existing permanent workers will TUPE across.

Ethan Treble-Westlake, depot manager at the new Plymouth site, said, “At our new depot we will be able to handle up to 480,000 parcels each week at peak times and provide a strong delivery service for the local community and a good working environment for our people.”
