Deutsche Post DHL Group has revealed its plans to acquire a minority stake in French e-commerce logistics specialist Relais Colis in order to enhance the company’s access to the French e-commerce market.

The company’s 27.5% stake in Relais Colis will enable divisions such as DHL Parcel to open up additional channels and expand its offering of logistics services for e-commerce customers to the French market. Relais Colis will also benefit from additional volumes from DHL Group’s networks and market knowledge.

Relais Colis currently partners with a number of well established e-commerce retailers, who leverage its range of specialized solutions including pickup point deliveries and home deliveries for larger packages. It currently employs approximately 450 people, with a network of three national hubs, 22 branches and 4,800 pickup points.
