Smartbox launches parcel locker network in India

New Delhi-based parcel locker service provider Smartbox has launched its new offering for online shoppers after installing 12 parcel terminals at metro stations and business centers across the National Capital Region (NCR) of the city. Smartbox plans to expand to 1,000 locations in eight major cities in India by the end of 2016.

The new terminals help to solve last mile delivery challenges of e-commerce companies and provide online shoppers with greater delivery options, allowing them to collect parcels at a time and location that is convenient for them. As soon as the carrier drops off the parcel at the chosen locker, the customer is sent a one-time password, which they can then use to open the terminal and collect their package.

Amit Sawhney, founder and CEO of Smartbox (above, third from left), said, “We are getting an overwhelmingly positive response from most e-commerce companies and are in advanced discussions to partner with several leading e-shops. Our mission is to create a large network of terminals at various convenient locations across the country to help everyone in the e-commerce eco system.”
