Smart locker company Bloq.it has extended its partnership with Vinted Go and will invest €2.5m (US$2.8m) over the next three years to support Vinted Go’s expansion into the Iberian Peninsula.
The company will use the investment to launch country managers, new facilities, enable production capabilities and open several positions in Spain and Portugal. Vinted Go’s delivery solution and Bloq.it’s smart lockers technology will go live in Madrid in mid-May, followed by Lisbon later in the year.
Miha Jagodic, CEO of Bloq.it, said, “As a company founded and headquartered in Portugal, it’s particularly meaningful for us to support Vinted Go’s Iberia launch. We’re proud to bring our technology home and give users throughout these countries access to a smarter and more convenient way of sending and receiving parcels.”
Bloq.it is already Vinted Go’s partner of smart locker hardware and software in France, where it has deployed over 5,000 parcel lockers throughout the country.
Vytautas Atkocaitis, VP of Vinted Go, commented, “We see vast potential for growth throughout Spain and Portugal. Our aim is to provide the most cost-efficient and convenient shipping solutions, making it easier for our members to trade second-hand items across Europe. This launch marks an exciting step in our journey, and we look forward to kicking off some new partnerships that will help us reach even more people and places.”
