Poste Italiane has signed an agreement with Amazon to develop the e-commerce sector in Italy. The partnership – lasting three years and renewable for a further two – aims to improve the service provided to customers with various delivery solutions, including evening and weekend delivery.

In line with the Deliver 2022 business plan, the agreement with Amazon utilizes the flexibility offered by the post’s new delivery model, Joint Delivery, which has been operational since April. Poste Italiane will provide the service with express courier SDA and the MistralAir fleet, the airline of the Group.

Following the signing of the new agreement, Poste Italiane predicts that the number of its employees involved in the logistics of parcels will reach 10,000 by 2020.
