Parcel software specialist Zetes has been chosen by logistics provider nox NightTimeExpress to supply its ZetesChronos system, a cloud-hosted ePOD (electronic proof of delivery) solution for in-night deliveries using keyless entry technology, and ZetesMedea system for the execution of logistics processes between its different depots. The project will be implemented across Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Delivery of time-critical spare parts to customers in various sectors has been nox NightTimeExpress’s core offering for over 50 years. Parcels are collected in the afternoon/evening and delivered before the start of the next business day. ZetesChronos, Zetes’s proof of delivery execution solution, has been employed by nox NightTimeExpress in Germany and Benelux for several years and the company decided to renew its trust in the supply chain technology company.
According Zetes, a combination of ZetesChronos and ZetesMedea (agile warehouse execution) provides a scalable, standardized solution for nox NightTimeExpress’s pan-European network. Via a secure mobile device, drivers gain keyless access to service technicians’ vehicles to deposit spare parts. This triggers an ePOD notification and then relocks the vehicle. The driver can also deliver to a building, scanning a barcode or taking a photo for undisputable ePOD. For longer distance deliveries, Zetes’s solution enables a second driver to take a parcel onward from a handover point. nox NightTimeExpress will have 2,500 mobile devices initially, scaling up to 5,000 in the future.
Additionally, ZetesMedea optimizes visibility and operational control between the different depots, including goods-in, shipping and inventory count. Vehicles and parcels will be guided and tracked throughout their journey using navigation software and geofencing, to provide accurate ETAs and inventory checks.
