DPD France, part of Groupe La Poste, has announced that it is using drones to deliver small parcels to remote mountain towns. A delivery van carries the drone to a dedicated launch zone. From there, drones deliver to a terminal near the village, where the parcel is collected for delivery. The round trip takes the drone eight minutes, compared to 30 minutes for a delivery van.
