In honor of World Refugee Day on June 20, FedEx Express and Rise Against Hunger (RAH) teamed up to pack food boxes for Ukrainian refugee families living in neighboring countries.

FedEx volunteers in four European locations packed 2,400 food boxes, 1,400 of which were packed at the FedEx Express headquarters in Atherstone, in the UK Midlands. The food boxes are being shipped to refugees fleeing the borders of Ukraine into surrounding communities in Poland, Moldova and Romania.

RAH is an organization headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, that is dedicated to ending hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world’s most vulnerable, and by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.

FedEx has provided more than US$1.8m to support Ukraine relief efforts. These shipments include practical items to help provide for basic, vital needs such as food, shelter, medical and financial support.

The collaboration is part of the company’s FedEx Cares 50 by 50 goal to positively impact 50 million people around the world by the company’s 50th  anniversary in 2023.
