Asendia and Singapore Post have formed a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening cross-border e-commerce logistics in Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The companies said the collaboration will focus on improving delivery performance, scalability and market access for businesses shipping into and out of Singapore, which they describe as a key gateway for regional e-commerce. Around 75% of online shoppers in Singapore purchase from overseas sellers, underlining the country’s role as both a destination and transit hub.
The partnership comes ahead of regulatory changes affecting global e-commerce flows. From July 1, 2026, the European Union will remove the €150 (US$177) de minimis customs duty exemption and introduce a flat €3 (US$3.5) duty on low-value imports. Similar measures have already been introduced in some countries, including additional handling fees.
To address these changes, Asendia and Singapore Post said they are developing Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) solutions to simplify customs processes and reduce the risk of delays or rejected deliveries.
Mark Chong, CEO of Singapore Post, said, “By extending our cross-border partnerships, we are providing businesses with the support to manage these complexities, ensuring that our customers can maintain access to these markets, minimizing the risk of delivery friction or doorstep rejection.”
The collaboration builds on Asendia’s existing presence in the region, including its Singapore hub operations. The companies said the partnership will support international brands and marketplace sellers using platforms such as Amazon, eBay and Etsy by streamlining parcel shipping into Singapore and across APAC.
Singapore Post customers will gain access to Asendia’s international delivery network, covering Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Oceania, while Asendia customers will benefit from improved access to Southeast Asia through Singapore Post’s infrastructure.
The companies said merchants will also have access to services including home delivery, out-of-home delivery and returns management.
Simon Batt, CEO of Asendia, said, “By bringing together our global network and SingPost’s strong local know-how, we’re building a smoother, more connected logistics experience. This partnership takes the hassle out of cross-border e-commerce, helping our customers reach more markets with greater flexibility.”
