AIT Home Delivery, a wholly owned subsidiary of AIT Worldwide Logistics, has added two Mercedes-Benz eSprinter electric vans to its delivery fleet as part of its strategy to reduce emissions from final-mile operations.
Supplied by NRG Riverside, the fully electric vehicles will operate on urban delivery routes from AIT’s Northampton and Enfield facilities in the UK.
The company said the vans are suited to urban distribution because of their zero tailpipe emissions, low noise levels, range and payload capacity. AIT also expects the vehicles to support operations as more urban areas introduce low-emission zones.

The investment forms part of AIT Home Delivery’s wider fleet strategy, which includes the recent introduction of 35 MAN tractor units capable of running on HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil). According to AIT, the vehicles have the potential to reduce lifecycle CO₂ emissions by up to 90%.
The company said its fleet investments are intended to improve fuel efficiency and reduce Scope 1 emissions while maintaining its last-mile delivery operations.
