SwipBox has introduced a hardware-agnostic software platform that enables carriers and network operators to run SwipBox software – including locker UI and backend systems – across parcel lockers from multiple manufacturers.
The platform is designed to let carriers and network operators consolidate locker hardware from different manufacturers onto a single software system, without replacing existing hardware investments. According to SwipBox, the offering is available as a standalone product within the SwipBox Infinity software solution, independent of SwipBox hardware purchases, and can manage any UI-based locker.
The platform is built on the SwipBox Infinity solution, which the company says has demonstrated reliability and scalability across a network of more than 55,000 lockers and millions of monthly transactions. The company also said the platform is ISO 27001 certified and is backed by a technical team of more than 120 people.
Kent Olenklint Olsson, CEO of SwipBox, said, “We are confident that we have the best outdoor lockers on the market. That gives our customers a unique opportunity: build your network with our outdoor lockers as the foundation, run everything on our software – and integrate lockers from other manufacturers wherever it makes sense. You get the best hardware, one unified software platform and the ability to build on your existing hardware investments rather than replace them. That is exactly the flexibility our customers have been asking for.”
SwipBox said that to support the launch it has added two industry figures to its team: Steffen Luippold and Fabian Renner, both previously of Smartmile. Luippold was a co-founder of Smartmile, overseeing technology, innovation and network operations, and Renner served as Smartmile’s CTO and was the principal architect of its hardware-agnostic solution. SwipBox said both have more than 10 years of experience building hardware-agnostic locker software, including work on open networks in the Netherlands and Finland.
Luippold said, “For me SwipBox incorporates the best of two worlds: the drive and speed of innovation still inherited from their startup days, combined with the maturity and reliability of a system built by a larger organization. Coming from the constraints of a startup background, it has been a real pleasure to be able to execute with the power of a tech team of over 120 people. Integrating the agnostic principle into a proven and scalable existing solution that handles millions of transactions for our partners every month was an exciting challenge to accomplish – and having done so in a matter of weeks proves to me that SwipBox has both the strong platform and the team to back it.”
SwipBox will be exhibiting its solutions at booth G30 at Parcel+Post Expo 2026, which will be taking place in London, UK, on September 23-24. Register for your visitor pass here; and book your Leadership Conference ticket here.
