FM Logistic has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in German logistics group Schäflein, the company announced on September 14, 2026. The transaction was signed on August 31, 2026, and has received all required regulatory approvals, including from the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt), registered on June 19, 2026.
The deal gives FM Logistic a presence in Germany, alongside a family-owned company with expertise in industrial logistics and transport. Schäflein operates a network of more than 35 sites across Germany, Austria and Poland.
Following the closing of the transaction, the two companies plan to begin deploying joint capabilities around three priorities: developing an integrated offering in Germany that combines FM Logistic’s expertise with Schäflein’s industrial and operational network; strengthening European transportation corridors by gradually integrating FM Logistic’s international volumes into Schäflein’s groupage network; and deploying Schäflein’s technological solutions across the group, including automation technology developed by LOCIT and the SprintBOX circular container system.
The companies said the combination will also expand the solutions available to industrial clients in markets where FM Logistic already operates, while supporting the growth of Schäflein’s network into new German logistics hubs, including Ruhr and Leipzig.
Jean-Christophe Machet, chairman of FM Logistic, said, “With the completion of this acquisition, we are taking action to deploy our joint capabilities and offer our customers tangible commercial and technical benefits.
“Concretely, this means exporting Schäflein’s German technological expertise – such as LOCIT advanced automation and SprintBOX circular logistics – across FM Logistic’s network in France, Poland, and Spain, as well as directly injecting our international flows into the central hub in Röthlein.
“While accelerating the development of these European corridors, we are ensuring the preservation of Schäflein’s unique DNA: its industrial roots, entrepreneurial spirit, and over 80 years of expertise.”
