Australia Post has confirmed plans to reopen its Goulburn Post Office in the city’s heritage Auburn Street building in central Goulburn in late 2027.
According to Australia Post, the heritage building was temporarily closed as a safety precaution after contaminants were detected during routine testing in areas not accessed by customers.
Sarah Coe, general manager of retail operations at Australia Post, said, “Bringing a heritage post office back to life takes careful restoration work, and we’re committed to ensuring it is safe, modern and ready to serve Goulburn into the future. We’re now focused on its refresh, and we can’t wait to welcome locals and customers back next year.”
Until the heritage building reopens, customers can continue to access Australia Post services at a temporary post office located at 168-172 Auburn Street, as well as at the Goulburn North Licensed Post Office. Australia Post said it will provide further information on the reopening closer to completion of the restoration work.
