Poczta Polska has won a tender to provide passenger and baggage security screening at Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport, one of Poland’s largest regional airports. The three-year contract took effect on August 1.
Under the agreement, Poczta Polska will continue operating the airport’s security screening checkpoints, a role it already held prior to the renewed tender. Around 70 employees are involved in the operation of the security checkpoints, with the number of screening operators on a single shift ranging from several to more than a dozen depending on seasonal passenger traffic.
Michał Pęsiek, director of the security and cash logistics department at Poczta Polska, said, “Winning another tender to service Gdańsk Airport confirms our competence and ability to provide services in an environment with the highest security requirements. It is also a testament to the professionalism of our employees, who are responsible for the efficient and safe handling of passengers every day.”
Poczta Polska said it has spent years building expertise in protection and security services for critical infrastructure. The company also provides security services at other Polish airports, including Poznań and Katowice, alongside additional strategic facilities.
