EAE Solutions will deliver a turn-key sorting solution to Swiss Post‘s new sorting center in Urdorf, Switzerland, that will help the operator boost its network expansion and support its long-term growth and sustainability ambitions.
The fully electric E-Cross/Loop sorter will be able to process up to 9,000 parcels per hour, supported by three fully automated induction lines, including one with a roll-container tipper.
Intelligent automation system (IAS) cameras will detect non-conveyable parcels, while dynamic speed control (DSC) technology helps to reduce wear and tear and improve the system’s energy efficiency. All components are integrated to create a reliable and sustainable sorting solution that supports Swiss Post’s long-term goals, according to EAE Solutions.
The collaboration between Swiss Post and EAE Solutions started with an initial meeting at Parcel+Post Expo 2021 in Vienna and developed into a close and constructive partnership based on trust and shared ambition. Through a series of co-design sessions and technical discussions, both teams worked together to create the ideal solution for the new sorting facilities in Urdorf and Neuendorf. The new agreement was announced at Parcel+Post Expo 2025 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
“Our decision to collaborate with EAE Solutions was based on their cooperative approach, clear communication and strong technical expertise,” said Roger Peter, project manager – sorters at Swiss Post. “Their proven technology and experience with other leading postal operators gave us full confidence in our decision.”
Adrian Sigg, head of sorting technology at Swiss Post, added, “We see EAE Solutions as a perfect partner for mid-size projects because of their co-designing, innovative mindset and broad experience with sorting technologies.”
The new sorting system will be fully operational ahead of Swiss Post’s peak season in 2026.
