DHL unveils its latest StreetScooter model

Vehicle development firm StreetScooter, a subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL, has unveiled the latest model in its commercial electric vehicle range at the IAA Commercial Vehicles trade fair in Hanover, Germany.

The StreetScooter Work L, the big brother of the StreetScooter Work, has doubled the loading capacity of the previous model, with 8m³ (283ft³) of loading space and a maximum vehicle loading capacity of 1,000kg (2,200 lb).

It is also equipped with a stronger engine and a new lithium-ion battery with a range of up to 100km (62 miles). Deutsche Post DHL aims to have more than 170 StreetScooter Work L vehicles on the road by the end of the year and will use them for the joint delivery of letters and parcels.

Achim Kampker, head of electromobility at Deutsche Post DHL and CEO of StreetScooter, said, “The IAA Commercial Vehicles trade fair is the perfect platform for showcasing electromobility as the future of environmentally friendly delivery operations.”
